Psytra squirmed in shock.

The flesh-eaters surrounded her. She had nowhere to run.

“You’re my puppets,” she screamed. “I’m the director! I’m the leader!”

Not any more.

I walked down the hall towards her, readying the Centauri Device.

Chip made the flesh-eaters get out of my way, forming a path to the fallen guardian.

“I’m taking you back to Illyria,” I said. “I’m taking you back where you belong.”

The woman held up her arms, defensively, pleading for her life.

“Tell me one thing. Did you come for me last?” asked Psytra. “Of course, you found Jupiter first. Silly girl. But did you capture Theodon as well?”

So the guardians really believed they were siblings; Psytra being the classic middle child.

I shook my head.

The woman sighed on the ground. “I thought I might be the leader. The star this time around. It’s always Theo, huh? Even out here, where I thought we’d all have a new beginning.”

“Where is your brother then?”

“He’s here in this city, by the docks,” said Psytra. “I’d been helping him at first. It might be too late to stop his plans. You better go quick.”

“What’s he planning?” I asked.

“You’ll have to see for yourself,” she sighed. “Now take me back to that cursed world father built for us.”

I lifted up my arm with the Centauri Device attached and triggered the spell.

Bright light formed in the pincers forming a liquidy sphere that then shot out in a laser beam into Psytra.

Her whole body was enveloped in the liquid metal energy until she was morphed into a ball and dragged back into the device.

Two down. One to go.
